The Delta series was designed and developed in Australia, to ensure a continuation of the world wide standard of excellence that Accusound has become renowned for.

We worked to create an new type of sound for movies and music that you can hear and feel. We call this “Live Sound”. Many speakers produce bass and treble but don’t give you the power and serge that is required for music, live music concerts and movies.

We go to the movies to look and listen. The sound quality of the theatre’s system is what we want to reproduce or create in the home. We have based the feel of the Delta series around this.

Again, many speakers don’t have a good balanced sound between the front, centre and rears. With 5.1 as the standard and the introduction of 6.1 and 7.1 digital receivers it is critical to have good sonic balance. All Accusound Delta series speakers are matched for perfect sonic balance.

Our Delta range is made up of 2 floor speakers: DL-695 and DL-895, two bookshelf speakers: DL-625 and DL-825, two centres: DLC-145 and DLC-165, one surround effects: DLR-525 with a matching powered subwoofer: SW-250. From these 8 models you can make up a speaker system to suit your every need.  You can have all floor speakers, all bookshelf speakers to save space or a mixture of both. Many people think that a home theatre system will not play music like their old stereo system did. In fact, the new digital receivers on the market combined with Accusound speakers will astonish you with quality stereo sound and all channel stereo from CDs.

Different Speakers for Different Types of Music

If your preference is classical, jazz and vocals the DL-695 or DL-625 are the choice. Small drivers are quicker in action. They will deliver a bass note faster and not cloud the delicate sound from different instruments. If you play middle of the road, country and rock then the DL-895 or DL-825 will produce the bass and mid-bass that you can feel as well as hear.

Even More Delta Series Features

Our range of Delta series have cast aluminium driver frames. This is the metal basket that holds the magnet voice coil and speaker cone in place. With conventional speakers the basket is made from pressed steel and is only 0.7 to 0.8 of a millimetre in thickness. A cast frame is produced in a mold and is cast in solid Aluminium. This is a solid, rigid construction.

It will not bend out of shape and will produce a sharper more defined sound.

Our DL-695 and DL-895 have Bi-Wire Gold Terminals. This is for high quality amplifiers or receivers You can run two sets of speaker wire from the receiver to the speakers, remove the Gold low and high level connectors and connect one set of wires to the bottom and one set to the top terminals. The bottom terminals run the two bass drivers and the top terminals run the midrange and tweeter. This will produce cleaner sound. All our other models have twin gold terminals. All models in our Delta series have holes in the binding posts that will accept large diameter speaker wire. All speaker connections will accept Banana Plugs.

6 Series

DL-695 have been designed for both music and movies. It plays classical, jazz and vocal with precision because of the small bass drivers that react quickly. This give more defined bass and does not cloud the delicate sound of some instruments. The speaker has 2 x 165mm cast frame bass drivers with another 165mm midrange mounted in a separate chamber to isolate the midrange from the internal air pressure of the bass drivers. The 25mm dome tweeter is very efficient and produces clean, smooth top-end response.

The DL-695s are supplied with floor spikes to transfer bass through the floor. This speaker can be used for front speakers in a regular system or front and back in a larger system.

DL-625 has been designed for both music and movies. Again this model plays classical, jazz and vocals with precision. The speaker has one 165mm cast frame bass driver and our 25mm dome tweeter which is mirror imaged in the second box. It is very efficient and produces clean, smooth top-end response. This speaker can be used as front speakers in a smaller system or as rear speakers in a larger system.

8 Series

DL-895 has been designed for both music and movies. It plays middle of the road music such as vocals, country and rock. This speaker will let you feel the music and movies and will play all day at very high volume. The speaker has two 200mm cast frame bass drivers with a 165mm cast frame midrange mounted in a separate chamber to isolate the midrange from the internal air pressure of the bass drivers. The dome tweeter is very efficient and produces clean, smooth top-end response. The DL-895s are supplied with floor spikes to transfer bass through the floor. This speaker can be used for front speakers in a regular system or front and back in a large system.

DL-825 has been designed for both music and movies. With music the model plays middle of the road to rock. The speaker has one 200mm cast frame bass driver and our 25 mm dome tweeter, which is mirror imaged in the second box. It is very efficient and produces clean smooth top end response. This speaker can be used as front speakers on a medium size home theatre system or as rear speakers on a larger home theatre system.

Centre and Rear Speakers

DLR-525s are rear surround speakers, This model comes with rear-hanging clips to attach the speaker the side or rear walls. The speaker has one 145mm cast frame bass drive with our 25mm dome tweeter. The speaker system produces high-level sound and matches with all the models in the range.

DLDP-545 is a Bi-Pole surround (both drivers pushing forward) that can be changed to Di-Pole configuration by us when ordered (1 driver pushing forward and the other pushing backwards). They can be positioned at the side of the room with the sound projecting forward and backwards, or at the back of the room approx 250mm in from the side walls reflecting off the side walls forward. This gives you a better spread of sound from the back channels on  5.1, 6.1 or 7.1 Home Theatre Systems. 

DLC-145 centre speaker produces clean clear vocals essential for a good quality centre speaker. It can sit on or under the TV. The speaker is shielded against colour distortion in the TV screen. It has 2 x 145mm cast frame drivers and again the same 25mm dome tweeter.

DLC-165 is our top of the range centre speaker. It produces clean, clear vocals at extremely high volumes. It can sit on or under the TV. The speaker is shielded against colour distortion in the TV screen. It has 2 x 165mm cast frame drivers and again the same 25mm dome tweeter.

SW-250 Subwoofer

Don’t be afraid to turn it up and feel the thunder rolling through the room! By using dynamically shaped wooden port tubes with a band pass alignment we have greatly reduced “air rushes” (a common negative feature of subwoofers). The SW-250 produces great quality low frequencies for movies and superb definition for music. We have produced a “Low End Drive” CE approved class A 250 watt amplifier that will run all day at high volume. The frequency response is 19-200Hz. The amplifier has a low-level subwoofer input and output, volume control, phase control from 0–180 degrees and a low pass frequency control from 40Hz-200Hz. The SW-250 Subwoofers are fitted with a 110/240V Power Switch so they can be used anywhere in the world.
